The goal of Jersey City Mobility 2050 is to create an action-oriented Circulation Element that plans for Jersey City’s transportation network through the year 2050 and describes the City’s vision of becoming a world-class destination with an efficient and effective multi-modal transportation network that accommodates the automobile, places emphasis on alternatives to the automobile, and provides steps to make the vision a reality. Jersey City Mobility 2050 will describe the means to enhance the quality of life to make the vision a reality.

Summary of Plan Activities 

•  Refined Vision, Goals and Objectives: The updated circulation element will outline a long-term, comprehensive vision for the City’s transportation network and guide future transportation capital investments and policies.
• Data Collection and Analysis: Both existing data and new information will be collected to advance the City’s vision, goals and objectives for the Circulation Element plan.
• Recommendations for Improvement Strategies and Actions: A set of recommendations will materialize that include physical improvements, service route changes, policy changes, cost estimates and potential funding sources.
• Benchmarks and Self-Assessment Strategy: Defined benchmarks will evolve to allow Jersey City to monitor its progress in implementing Circulation Element plan recommendations.
